ONE of the leading manufacturing companies — Goodman Fielder — yesterday renewed its sponsorship for naming rights of the Crest and Tuckers Foodies Lane at Fiji’s largest annual music festival.

“Goodman Fielder through its two major brands Crest Chicken and Tuckers Ice Cream are perfect partners for the music festival and this agreement exemplifies their dedication to support local food vendors and small businesses through our annual event,” said James Pridgeon, part of the organising committee of the annual Vonu Uprising Festival of Music, Dance & Lights.

“This partnership reflects our desire to collaborate with companies that share our vision of community engagement and producing world-class events that can be enjoyed by our international tourists as well as our very own Fijian community,” said Mr Pridgeon.

A statement from the organisers said the continued sponsorship would allow the Uprising Festival of Music Dance & Lights event to provide more food choices with some of Fiji’s best food vendors expressing interest to be part of the annual event.

The tenth annual Festival of Music, Dance & Lights will be held at the Uprising Beach Resort in conjunction with Pacific Coast Events & Promotions. “Our ability to host such an event is due to the hugely successful outcomes of our last nine shows.

“We remain solid in our vision to continue to host this event annually, and with the support of sponsors such as Goodman Fielder, we can commit to an even bigger show in 2018,” said Darlene Underwood, event producer.

The statement said each November, this spectacular show kicked off from 12 midday to 12 midnight, with a sold out event being the pattern for the past three years.

Ms Underwood said as event organisers and hosts, their pledge to patrons would once again guarantee 12 hours of exciting music and spectacular dance in the hope to showcase local flair and offer their visiting guests (tourists) a promise of first-class entertainment.
