THE heavy rain warning that remains in force for Viti Levu, western half of Vanua Levu, Yasawa Islands, Mamanuca and Lomaiviti Group, has now been extended to the rest of Fiji.

The weather forecasting centre in Nadi’s special weather bulletin issued at 7am today says a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji, with associated cloud and rain affecting the group.

The trough is expected to affect the country until Tuesday.

The weatherman has forecast periods of rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Members of the public are also advised that heavy falls may lead to flash flooding  of low-lying areas.

The next special weather bulletin on heavy rain will be issued at around 10am or earlier.
