THE newly-selected special administrators were today reminded to work together to pursue Fiji’s untapped potential and make every municipal council a better place to work, live, visit and invest.

Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government Premila Kumar shared these remarks while welcoming the newly-appointed administrators at an event held at the Holiday Inn in Suva today.

Ms Kumar said the Fijian Government would ensure that the legislative framework within which local government operated remained contemporary and would empower councils with the regulatory tools and resources needed.

“As special administrators, we are asking you to focus on restructuring and redefining your respective municipal councils,” she said.
