Sowing seeds for tomorrow

STUDENTS of the Seventh-day Adventists (SDA) Primary School in Suvavou joined the rest of the world and the Ministry of Health to commemorate World Health Day at their school in Lami, Suva, yesterday.

World Health Day is a global health awareness day where people come together and create awareness on the importance of establishing good health.

For the students, management and staff members of the school, words could not describe the smile on their faces and how excited they were after the Health Minister Jone Usamate joined them to mark the special day.

Different activities were organised to celebrate the special day where the students were given the privilege to help the minister water the garden and plant seedlings as well.

Eight-year-old Mosese Raluve said he was able to plant his first cabbage yesterday.

“I’m very happy now that I know how to plant cabbage. When I go back home this afternoon, I can’t wait to relay the good news to my parents and practise what I had learnt in school today.”
