SOUTH Sea Cruises and Blue Lagoon Cruises were one of the few tourist operators nominated as finalists in five different categories for the 2019 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards.
The tourist cruise operators have been a mainstay at the annual awards. SSC general manager Brad Rutherford said these five nominations were the result of hard work.
“The exceptional services delivered by South Sea Cruises staff daily to guests and tourists have been the drive behind this,” he said.
“The staff worked tirelessly to market our product.”
While speaking at the recent Blue Lagoon Cruises 70th anniversary, Mr Rutherford recognised the company’s efforts to grow their brand.
“The contribution of Blue Lagoon Cruises along with South Sea Cruises continues to this day and will continue as we operate in this truly special part of the South Pacific.
“Also, to help celebrate our 70th year we’re helping making guests cruises even more special with some themed cruises including returnees, a photography cruise, wine themed cruise.
“We’re also very proud to be one of the only tour and accommodation operators within Fiji to be completely free of single use plastic as soon as April which is part of our ongoing efforts towards being a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly company.
“In closing if you’ve ever been on a Blue Lagoon cruise you’ll know that the experiences and moments most cherished have nothing to do with the ship you’re standing on here tonight.
“They are made through our all Fijian crew through the Fijian people and communities who you will get to meet and interact through the amazing destinations that the islands of Fiji.
