SOLOMON Islands national team players Jeffery Bule and Mathias Iana have joined the Suva football team in training and are likely to feature for the whites at the Courts Inter District Championship in October later this year.

Bule (mid-fielder) and Iana (striker) were playing for Solomon Islands club Marist FC before joining the whites.

Eighteen-international-capped Solomon Islander Bule says he hopes to do well in Fiji.

“We (together with Iana) were about to join a club in New Zealand but we ended up joining Suva. I see football in Fiji is different from the way we play back at home,” Bule told Fiji Times Online.

“Here they play a lot of long and high balls but back home, we play plenty short passes. I hope to get my skills combined with the Fijian flair and looking forward to playing in front of Fijian crowd.”

Bule has also represented the Solomon Islands Futsal and the Under-23 teams.

Suva coach Gurjit Singh said the duo was doing trials with his team and would have to prove themselves.

“We have brought them and they are being tested. Both are national players of high expectations and we hope they do well,” Singh said.

Fiji FA Competitions Manager Amitesh Pal said they were waiting for the ITC (International Transfer Certificate) for the two players.
