Soldiers in Victoria Cross exercise reminded to uphold discipline

WHILE more than 500 soldiers take a break from the three-week Victoria Cross exercise today, they have been reminded to uphold discipline.
Speaking at the end of the parade at the Sukanaivalu Barracks in Labasa – attended by all personnel involved in the exercise – the officers were reminded to control themselves as personnel was reminded of a few others who were facing sexual harassment charges.
In an interview, Republic of Fiji Military Forces Chief of Staff Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai said that the objectives of the exercise had been achieved successfully.
Brig-Gen Kalouniwai said the purpose of the exercise was to instill operation readiness among the personnel.
Meanwhile, commanding officer of the Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Penioni Naliva said they also wanted to gauge the level of fitness and knowledge of their officers.
