Following the lifting of its suspension, the Social Democratic Liberal Party says it will work towards unifying all its members to present a formidable force in the 2022 polls.

The party executives have asked its supporters to forgive them for letting them down.

In a statement, party executives stated the suspension had taught them many valuable lessons, with the most important being putting the interest of Fijians first at all times.

The statement, undersigned by party acting president Vjiay Singh and acting vice presidents Ratu Epenisa Cakobau and Ratu Jone Lesuma, called for unity in the party as it prepared for the 2022 polls.

“We, the management board of SODELPA, are very grateful to be able to give back to our people of Fiji, their main Opposition party in Parliament,” the statement said.
