SODELPA MP dies

OPPOSITION member of Parliament and Nacolase, Kadavu chief Ratu Sela Nanovo has died.
Ratu Sela died on Wednesday night and his death was confirmed by Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa yesterday.
Ro Teimumu described Ratu Sela, a member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party, as a “devout family man, a man committed to serving the people and one who has made an immense contribution to the vanua”.
“Ratu Sela has left behind a huge vacuum in our party and our parliamentary caucus,”she said.
“His legacy is worth celebrating to inspire the younger generation to dutifully serve their people and nation as a whole.”
Ratu Sela was the Opposition’s spokesperson for employment, productivity and industrial relations.
He spent 25 years with the Fiji Development Bank and was the former chief executive officer of the Lami Town Council before he joined Parliament in 2014.
He was a member of the Kadavu Provincial Council and the Kadavu Provincial Development Board.
Ratu Sela is survived by his wife, four children and four grandchildren.
