Social media ranting is not going to solve any problems, Education Minister Rosy Akbar told school heads during a meeting in Rakiraki last Saturday.

She urged teachers to take any issues they had to the school heads.

“Sometimes, people send me screen-shots of things that have happened in school and take to the social media,” she said.

“That does not solve the problem.

“Social media ranting is not going to solve any problems for us.”

She told school heads if a complaint comes to them, “thrash it out there and then”.

“Somebody is not paid on time, somebody’s contract has not been given, there are reasons for that.

“There are always two sides to a story, unfortunately at the Ministry of Education, we always get the wrong side.”
