WHILE social media is abuzz with mixed reactions from present and former students of Adi Cakobau School over the cutting down of mahogany trees beside the main school block, president of the ACS Old Girls Association, Ilisapeci Movono says she will not comment until she has visited the school.

Mrs Movono said she would need to visit the school to see the extent of the logging.

She said when she came in as president of the ACSOG two years ago, she was aware of the ongoing negotiations regarding the cutting of trees.

It is understood the school is looking at using the logged timber for the construction of new school buildings when approval for expansion is given.

Meanwhile, the school has also denied claims of flooding in the school over the weekend after the torrential rain.

It is understood the area towards the main office was inundated with floodwaters.
