TELECOM Fijiana 7s captain Rusila Nagasau is humbled by the achievement of her side at the recent world 7s series qualifying rounds in Hong Kong.
She said leading the team for the Hong Kong tournament was a moment she would always cherished.
Nagasau gave credit to the man up above for guiding the team to create history.
“We managed to fulfil our goal because the Almighty God was on our side,” she said.
“Without His protection and blessing I don’t think we would have reached this far.
“Leading this team was not an easy job and it was through the Lord’s guidance that enabled me to perform my job well.
“This is a proud moment for the team and for the country and I am honoured to lead this team.”
She also thanked her fellow teammates, the team management, sponsors and fans their support.
“We thank Telecom and the FRU for supporting the team during our preparation.
“The next focus is to continue the momentum for the world sevens series and I hope the girls are looking forward to the challenge.
“We have been given a training program by our coach and the onus is for the players to follow the training program.
“We have a few 7s tournaments coming up that will best prepare the team for the first leg of the world sevens series in Dubai.”
The Dubai 7s tournament will be held in December.
