NORTHLAND secured a 27-26 win against Tailevu at Gatward Park in Korovou on Saturday.
Autiko Domonakibau scored the first try for Tailevu and Seru Cavuilati kicked the conversion 7-0.
Thirty minutes into the first-half Northland came in with a try to Dan Ligairi and Etonia Rokotuisawa kicked the conversion to level the score 7-all at half-time.
Five minutes into the second half Tailevu scored a try to Vetaia Rokosuka and the conversion from Cavuilati extending their lead to 14-7.
Northland kept fighting and scored again from Simeli Naivaludua for 14-all.
Northland wing Peter Canakaivata scored to lead 21-14.
Two penalty kicks were awarded to Northland due to dangerous tackle.
They extended their lead 27-14.
Tailevu scored two tries with one converted.
The Tailevu women’s team thrashed Northland 79-0.
