Sit back and relax

THERE is no doubt that wines has been one of the best companion with food and entertainment for thousands of years now. In fact, wines have literally evolved together with civilisation over many generations.

While the history of wines goes back to thousands of years, it has gained more popularity in the last century with mass production and brand loyalty which has made certain names a world-wide favourite.

Here in Fiji, there is no shortage of good wine — thanks to Motibhai Group which has been distributing quality wines for all occasions and suited to all tastes for many years now.

“The brands we distribute are world-renowned and collectively have won numerous awards at food and wine shows and other important events across the globe,” Motibhai Group team leader hospitality Nitesh Chand said.

“Our wines have become part of your daily life, whether it’s a normal day or time for celebration,” he added.

“Many a times people may not realise that you can actually pair a wine not only for each food course, but also for each segment of the evening — upon arrival, appetisers, toasting, after dinner sippers and so on.”

Meanwhile, Rawson’s Retreat is one of the many great wines distributed in Fiji by Motibhai Group.

The brand which comes under the Treasury Wines Estates (TWE) stable of quality and world-renowned wines was affectionately named after the founder’s family cottage which he built in 1845, one year after he planted his first vineyard on the property.

The quality of all Rawson’s Retreat wines understandably go unquestioned. Fantastic ripe fruit characters shine through in the Rawson’s Retreat range that are made to be enjoyed now.

“We have great specials for this month on our Rawson’s Retreat range of wines as you can see in our advertisement,” Mr Chand highlighted.

Shiraz Cabernet

The Rawson’s range is a great way to enjoy wine more often. When drinking you’ll taste raspberry, strawberry and even red tomato. Enjoy with lamb, pasta or pizza.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example with its tropical fruit and round flavours. Sauvignon Blanc is a quintessential white wine calling for white meats (from fish and shellfish to chicken and pork).

Merlot

This attractive Merlot displays varietal aromas of cassis and liquorice. The palate is fleshy and mouth filling with flavours of plum, sweet spice and creamy vanillin oak. A good all round wine for a cold night, with a steak or with a nice pie!
