Sir Julius backs Bill

PORT MORESBY – Former Papua New Guinea prime minister Sir Julius Chan has given the People’s Progress Party’s support in voting for the APEC Bill because this is an occasion that PNG may never experience again in a lifetime.

Sir Julius commended the government for the APEC Bill, saying this was a historical meeting which would draw powerful leaders to PNG.

“I commend the government for bringing in this Bill to provide security. The reason is that we don’t have this kind of gathering every year, and it is a very unusual event for this country,” Sir Julius said.
