Singh’s opponent

WESTWOOD Boxing promoter Praneel Dass yesterday confirmed that Fijian boxer Sebastian Singh will battle against Thailand boxer Jomyuth Sor Narongchai in the main bout of his program later this month.

Narongchai is also a champion kickboxer in Thailand who has won all his seven professional bouts and will be a prefect opponent for Singh.

Dass said the fight would be a wonderful opportunity for boxing fans to witness quality fight.

“Narongchai is undefeated in all his seven professional fights and has feature in 85 kickboxing matches in Thailand winning 55 fight,” he said.

“I am looking at a very explosive fight as a warrior is coming all the way from Thailand with undefeated record to stamp his mark in Fiji.

“It is going to be a war against Singh and will be a good opportunity for the fans to witness top-class fight in the country.”

Dass said he wanted to bring overseas fighters to test the local boys and at the same time give Fijian boxers the opportunity to gauge their standard against some world-class fighters.

“This will be an interesting fight for the fans also as they will get the chance to watch an overseas boxer to fight again in Fiji after a very long time.

“Both boxers have different styles and the one that plays his card right will come out on top.”

Meanwhile, Dass said there were other exciting bouts planned for the night. The main supporting bout between Malakai Marama and Franco Fraser will be a thriller.

“It will be a battle between upcoming boxer in Marama and one of the best in the business in Fraser,” said Dass.

“There are many other quality fights being linedup and we are looking to exciting boxing festival.”

The event will be held at the Novotel Suva Lami Bay on February 16.
