Singh: Fiji will win

Lautoka businessman and ardent rugby supporter Raymond Singh is confident that Fiji will win the Dubai 7s in the United Emirates this weekend.

Singh said Fiji would be riding on the success of the Olympic Games success in Tokyo, Japan. “Good luck and best wishes to our men’s and women’s teams,” Singh said.

“After the very successful Tokyo 2020 Olympics outing, our sevens gladiators are geared up for the Dubai 7s this weekend. We have ssuccess in our back-to-back Olympic Games gold medal titles, wins in the World Rugby Sevens Series, the Sevens World Cup and 7s rugby is the most successful sport in Fiji. Sevens rugby has the most following.

“They will win. I congratulate the debutantes on their first ever overseas mission. We are proud to see our sevens team putting our small island nation in the world stage. Go Fiji Go.”

Singh is driving around the West with his Fiji flag-draped 4WD to garner support and cheers for the Fiji 7s and the Fijiana 7s teams in the Dubai 7s.

The Fiji 7s team play France today at 7.22pm, Canada at 10.22pm and 3.33am tomorrow against Australia.

Fijiana 7s: 8.56pm v Canada, Saturday: 3.05am v Russia, 9.07am: v Great Britain.
