JOHNNY ‘The Machine Gun’ Singh is optimistic of his chances against Australia’s Adam Kaoullas next week.

The Nadi-based boxer has been working overtime at training and confident of winning the Australia Victoria State welterweight title.

A win for Singh will give him the opportunity to challenge other top boxers in the region and a possible world title fight in the near future. Singh’s trainer Freddy Chand said the upcoming fight would be a huge test for his boxer.

He said Singh had been working hard at training and would do his best for the country.

“We will make this opportunity counts and will give our best for the country,” said Chand.

“It is going to be a tough test but we are ready for the challenge.” Singh has won five of his nine bouts, drew twice and also lost twice while Kaoullas has won five of his six bouts.
