FIJIAN singing sensations Arthur Philitoga and Georgina Ledua rocked the house during the Fiji Day celebrations for the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers on Friday night, in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England.
Philitoga said they were asked by the Fiji High Commissioner to Britain, Jitoko Tikolevu, to perform at the Fiji Day celebrations in the UK this year.
“We have a five-piece band but the high commission managed to get three of us across and we have seen there is an untapped market here in the UK,”he said.
He said it was humbling to see that the Fiji Day was celebrated by Fijians and other races from the Fusilier Battalion.
“There were requests to perform by other Fijian communities but we did not have the time.
“We are thinking of returning on a longer tour next year with our band Kulture and Tolu because this could generate employment for musicians in our country,” he said.
He said they had been invited to perform in Britain during next year’s Fiji Day celebrations.
