The board of Toyota Tsusho (South Sea) Ltd Fiji this week announced the resignation of the company chief executive officer and the appointment of an acting CEO.
In a market announcement on Wednesday, the board said Asco Motors CEO Craig Sims had resigned to take up a senior management role in the corporate head office in Brisbane, Australia and would continue to serve as a director on the TTS board.
Mr Sims was appointed as the CEO in November 2016 and under his guidance, the company saw significant improvements in the various levels of the business, including critical capital projects and improved employee engagement.
According to the board, Mr Sims is scheduled to leave for Australia in September.
Meanwhile, the company’s financial controller and company secretary Ronald Kumar will act in the chief executive officer’s capacity until a suitable candidate is identified.
Having been with the company for the past 15 years, Mr Kumar has taken up various roles in the company, including senior finance-related positions and has successfully managed critical business development projects.
He is a Bachelor of Arts graduate in Accounting and Information Systems and is currently pursuing his MBA program with the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
Mr Kumar is a CPA (Australia), a full member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a qualified chartered accountant with the Fiji Institute of Accountants.
Mr Sims’ resignation and Mr Kumar’s appointment are both effective from September 1, 2021.
