THE Western Division Chow Games will be held at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka from November 11-12.
The organisers of the games had initially planned to hold it at Churchill Park in Lautoka, however it had to be shifted because of the continuing upgrade of the Sugar City ground.
The Western Division games co-ordinator Andrew Pillay said seven schools had confirmed entry.
Pillay said they were awaiting Yasawa’s confirmation.
“Teams from Rakiraki right up to Navosa will participate,” he said.
“We expect more than 1700 athletes. The event should be completed in two days. It is unfortunate that we cannot hold the games at Churchill Park.”
Pillay said Nadroga would be strong this year.
“Nadroga won the girls’ division during the nationals last year and will be out in full force,” he said.
“The teams have been preparing well.”
Meanwhile, Churchill Park is undergoing extensive renovation with new synthetic tracks already in place.
