THE St John’s Association of Fiji will now provide more sufficient services with a new wheelchair capability shuttle for patient transfers.

The new shuttle was given to St John’s by the Tourist Transport Fiji (TTF).

St John’s chief executive Emma Bavoro said the shuttle would boost their services greatly.

“This is something that we did not have — it existed in other St John’s entities around the world but not here in Fiji so in having this shuttle it actually frees our ambulance to do patient transfers,” she said.

TTF’s general manager John Hardaker said this was for a very good cause to assist in the aid in community

. “The value of being able to do it is immeasurable to what people will benefit from and as it is a dual purpose vehicle for shuttling and wheelchair,” he said.

Ms Bavoro said the new shuttle would cater for the Central Division in the time being before they opened a new branch in Nadi before the end of the year.
