National Federation Party MP Professor Biman Prasad has called on the government members not to get upset and angry and show humility and listen to what the Opposition have to say in Parliament.

“I would urge government members when they debate on this motion let us not get upset, let us not get angry, let us show a bit of humility – just listen to what people are saying and what the Opposition is saying because this is a crisis,” he said.

“There is no point-scoring here because there is nothing to score points on. I mean the people are suffering, We are going through an exponential rise in COVID-19 cases in the last week. Prof Prasad said it was shameful to start name-calling members of Parliament.

“When we bring in something here, just like government ministers they say a lot of darnedest and irrelevant things, that is accepted. But members on the other side to get very personal and start name-calling and all that is actually quite disgraceful and shameful.”
