AS Fiji recorded its first confirmed case of COVID-19, a surge of panic shoppers were seen crowding supermarkets around Suva.

A team from this newspaper who made rounds to check on these supermarkets noticed people shopping in bulk.

Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete said Fiji’s first case which was recorded in Lautoka was imported from a patient who had recently traveled abroad.
