FIJI’S one and only Hindi newspaper, Shanti Dut, the vernacular newspaper of the Fiji Times Ltd, has been shining for 82 years in Fiji.
Two years ago, the newspaper celebrated its 80th anniversary.
This weekly paper stood the test of time and remained alive during difficult periods.
It is still read with passionate interest by many of the Hindi readers in Fiji as well as abroad where the paper is available.
Shanti Dut continues to enjoy an enviable place in the field of Hindi journalism in the country.
Many of the ardent Hindi reading people still go around reading this newspaper to alleviate their homesickness and keep themselves informed about the latest happenings.
Dipawali is just around the corner. During the Diwali celebration this paper is worthy to be purchased and read. The demand for this newspaper locally and abroad during Diwali becomes high, therefore, I believe readers should not forget to grab their copies.
At this particular time, the colourful newspaper lets us read lots of messages, greetings, stories, photos of friends and families, a chance to see our loved and departed ones’ photos and so on.
