NIPPY Apisai Sesewa handed Dreketi a crucial win in the Vodafone Premier League match after beating Nadroga 3-2 at Subrail Park in Labasa on Saturday.
Nadroga scored twice first in a lapse of five minutes with goals from Archie Underwood and Taniela Raubula.
Dreketi replied through Thomas Steiner and Setareki Rokowasa.
Veteran midfielder Henry Dyer was red carded in the match and they had to play with 10-man. Striker Ashnil Raju was fouled in the penalty box and Sesewa scored from the spot-kick.
Dreketi vice-president Rishi Prasad said: “It was a very crucial match for us. The result matters a lot since we are now way above Nadroga on the points standing.
“We have more chances than Nadroga to remain in the Premier Division next year and this is because of the hard work put in by the players. We played constructive football and that really made the difference,” he added.
Meanwhile, Inter-District Championship winners Labasa defeated Lautoka 2-0.
