SERVING prisoner Tevita Qaqanivalu escaped from the Naboro Minimum Prison Complex at 3am today.

Fiji Police chief operations officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu said checkpoints had been erected and would be manned throughout the day as the search operations for the escapee continued.

He urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 919.

“It is an offence to harbour prisoners and members of the public are urged to do the right thing and report his whereabouts to Police,” ACP Qiolevu said.

Qaqanivalu was serving time for a series of burglaries and theft cases
