Seruvakula to address Drua fall

THE Fiji Airways Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula was not a happay man after his side went down to defending champions Queensland Country 55-22.

Seruvakula said he was a very disappointed on their game.

“Queensland Country deserve the win and there is a lot of work to be done next week as we need to regroup quickly and focus on our next game,” he said.

The Mosese Voka-captained side despite scoring the first try in the first spell of play was not strong enough to counter their opponents.

Wing Apete Daveta scored the opening try for the Drua side however the conversion attempt by Alivereti Veitokani was unsuccessful.

A foul play by the Queensland side in the 38th minute gave away a penalty try to the Fijian side.

Queensland led 38-12 in the first half.

The Fijians quickly regrouped after returning from their break which saw full back Apisalome Waqatabu adding extra points to their side with a try and a successful conversion by Veitokani, 17-38.

However minutes later Ratunaisa Nauma achieved another score for his Drua side. This was not enough for to encounter the side to winning the match. Queensland now top in the points table with 10 points. “We can’t afford to be giving penalty to an experience side.

“Now our focus is to work on our set piece and defence.”

The team returns home today for rest before resuming camp for the next leg of the tournament.
