Seruiratu is the new Opposition Leader

Inia Seruiratu is the new Opposition Leader after being nominated by FijiFirst MP, Alvick Maharaj in Parliament this morning.

While delivering his speech after being elected, Mr Seruiratu said he wasn’t expecting to deliver a speech after being elected as the Opposition Leader.

“I am indeed honoured and privileged for this opportunity,” Mr Seruiratu said.

“I’m here to serve all Fijians and of course being the Government in waiting, we are here to ensure that we work with the Government and at the same time keep them in check as well.

“And of course hope that we will work according to the expectations of our people and most importantly bring prosperity and of course unity in the Fiji that we aspire to.”
