A FATHER and daughter charged with a count each of common assault and act with intent to cause grievous harm will take their plea next month.
Suva High Court judge Justice Chamath Morais had also asked defence lawyer Ashneel Nand to give a valid reason to the court on why Dharmendra Kumar should be granted bail, citing his record of violent offending.
It is alleged that Mr Kumar and his daughter Achal Vishal Raj assaulted Mr Kumar’s defacto partner with a cane knife on June 13.
The matter has been adjourned to August 20.
