Some 75 senior police officers will be undergoing a month-long Corporal’s Qualifying Course at the Fiji Police Academy.

Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu officiated at the official opening ceremony and noted the importance of the course to those holding frontline supervisory roles.

“The rank you hold demands consistency in providing professional service and you need to positively influence those under your leadership,” ACP Tudravu said.

“Never remain silent, speak up when things are not right, and address issues as it comes your way.”

ACP Tudravu said stepping into the role of leadership was a challenge.

He said junior officers looked up to these senior officers as role models when it came to policing.

He added senior officers’ attitude would change their perception in terms of service delivery.

“You are given this opportunity to enhance your knowledge in policing and implement the lessons learnt here in your respective divisions.”
