RESIDENTS of the Golden Age Home in Labasa will be special guests at tonight’s Digicel Crime Prevention Carnival Bollywood-themed night.

The carnival committee decided to invite the residents to give them a different environment to enjoy the items and the company of others.

Carnival secretary Litia Kubunavanua said this was the first time for the residents to be involved as special guests.

“It’s always good to care for our senior citizens and they will be part of the Bollywood Night and we want them to enjoy themselves,” Ms Kubunavanua said.

“Most of the time the residents are at the home and visitors keep going there. But for this carnival, we thought of bringing them out to the grounds and they will have their own stage with the committee.

“The residents will be served with refreshments during their stay and they will also watch the items throughout the evening.”

Ms Kubunavanua said the residents deserved such treats.

“They might meet up with old friends or relatives but we just want them to have some fun and enjoy because they also deserve it.”
