PRESIDENT of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, Dixon Seeto has this year been appointed a private sector board member of the South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) for a term of three years.

The four other new private sector directors are Robert Skews from Turama Pacific Tours, Cook Islands, Diana Chin Choi of Tahiti Tours, French Polynesia, Simon Foo of Air Niugini Ltd in Papua New Guinea and Ali Serhan of Warwick Le Lagoon from Vanuatu.

Meanwhile, outgoing private sector board representative, Robert Rounds from, the regional manager Fiji and the Pacific Islands for Fiji Airways, was farewelled by SPTO staff members and private sector board members in Suva last week.

He was presented with a tanoa as a token of his service to the SPTO Board from 2014 to 2017.

Mr Rounds has been a valuable member of the SPTO Board contributing to the development of regional tourism and SPTO acknowledges Fiji Airways’ partnership in sponsoring a number of major events including the annual South Pacific Tourism Exchange.
