THIRTY Sigatoka police officers underwent the United States Diplomatic Security Service Training delivered by personnel from the US embassy’s Overseas Criminal Investigation Division last week.

In a statement, police said the three-day training held at the Intercontinental Resort at Natadola focused on developing knowledge and skills in travel documentation and detecting illegal transactions across our border.

Police said similar training was delivered in Suva, Nadi and Savusavu in anticipation of the influx of visitors once travel restrictions were lifted.

“Law enforcement cannot remain idle during this lull in international travel, but continue to provide specific capacity building programs for its officers through supporting international partners such as the USA embassy’s Overseas Criminal Investigation Division,” police said.
