THE Vodafone Fiji National Rugby League Secondary Schools competition was launched at the Albert Park in Suva today.

Since it’s establishment in 2007 with only four schools pioneering the competition, the standard of rugby league in high school level has grown with 54 schools participating this year, and the number expected to increase.

Permanent secretary for the Ministry of Youth and Sports Maretino Nemani was the chief guest at the launch with sponsor Vodafone Fiji’s Marketing manager Adriu Vakarau officially opening the season of secondary schools rugby league.

The competition will kick start on Saturday at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
