Secondary school IDC to complete 84 games

THE Fiji Secondary Schools Football Association Inter-District Championship is expected to complete 84 games by Sunday.

The annual IDC started yesterday in Ba.

The association is expecting tough competitions in today’s pool games with another round of 26 games to be completed in the under-15,U17 and U19 grades.

Association secretary Bimlesh Kumar said the upset yesterday was Xavier College being beaten by Tilak High School 1-0 in the U19 grade.

“That doesn’t rule them out as they bounced back to win their second game,” Kumar said.

“It was a successful competition where we finished all our 26 games on time and also the players enjoyed themselves playing in a good weather.”

Kumar said defending girls champion Vunimono High School started well with a 5-1 win against Jasper Williams High School of Lautoka.

“For this competition we’re are looking at schools such as Kamil Muslim College, Nadi Musliim College, Cuvu College, Seaqaqa Central College and AD Patel College who will be top contenders in the three-day tournament.”

He said the focus was mainly getting the players to focus more on the development of an individual player.

Boys U19: Labasa College 1- 0 Sigatoka Methodist, Tilak High School 1-0 Xavier College, Kamil college 2- 0 Lautoka Central School, Xavier 2-0 Baulevu High School, Bulileka 1- 1 Tailevu.

Open grade girls: Natabua High School 1-1 Kamil College, Seaqaqa Central school 4- 0 Rishikul, Holy Family Secondary School 0- 3 AD Patel.
