TWO prominent Lautoka education institutions –– Natabua High School and Jasper Williams High School –– have been converted into COVID-19 isolation facilities.

In a statement, Natabua High School principal Virendra Sharma said the school hostel would be used should the need arise.

“All possible precautions and preparations are being done to make this possible as well as safe,” he said.

“To the parents of our hostel boys, please be rest assured that any little belongings left behind by the boys are being kept safe.”

He said they had been briefed by a Health Ministry team on the safety measures being taken as the facility would again be used by hostel students.

At a news conference on Thursday evening, Health Ministry permanent secreatary Dr James Fong said several schools in high risk areas had been identified apart from the present isolation facilities in hospitals.
