IT was a double celebration for Marist Convent School in Levuka as it celebrated the school’s establishment as well as the arrival of the Marist Sisters to Fiji in 1892.
The two-day celebration on November 17 and 18 started with a march, and a traditional welcome for the chief guest Sister Grace Ellul from the international Marist Sisters organisation in Rome.
The school has educated many chiefly families including the late prime minister and president Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara and the paramount chief of Rewa, Ro Teimumu Kepa.
Many former scholars participated in the school’s bicentennial celebrations over the weekend in Levuka.
