STAFF of the Sugar Cane Growers Council and Sugar Cane Growers Fund raised $800 during a morning tea held in Lautoka this morning.
The funds were accepted by Western Support Group for Cancer president Balavu Tora on behalf of the Fiji Cancer Society.
Cancer survivor Reapi Nayacakalou urged about 30 staff present at the event to ensure they got themselves checked if there were unexplained physical changes.
“We have to get over the fear and ‘madua’ or shame of being seen by a doctor because its better to get diagnosed early,” she said.
