FIJIFIRST party general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the Prime Minister and FijiFirst party leader Voreqe Bainimarama has proven his statement in winning the 2018 General Election.

For that, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum has congratulated and thanked Mr Bainimarama.

“You can see that our leader and the FijiFirst took a very principled position in respect of the elections and indeed the campaign period,” he said.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said it was unfortunate for other parties to not have believed the integrity principle Mr Bainimarama had.

“He proved his statements. Before the writ for election was issued he said we must take a principle position and we must not lie and we must always speak the truth,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“Unfortunately the others did not believe that integrity principle.

“We would like to of course thank the honourable leader for providing us that political framework where all our candidates contested the elections.

“Majority of the Fijian population in large numbers compared to what the others are professing actually supported the principle decision.”

In moving forward, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said he was adamant of a brighter future for the country. “The future is extremely bright.”
