SAVE the Children foundation is celebrating its centennial celebrations globally this year after its establishment.
Save the Children Fiji’s Chief Executive Shairana Ali said this in an interview with this newspaper today.
She said the foundation has been in existence since 1819 globally and was founded by Eglantyne Jebb in London, UK.
“To mark this historic event we will be hosting a charity fundraiser next month the date and the venue is yet to be confirmed,” she said.
“However the theme of the charity fundraiser is 100 year of saving lives, especially children’s lives,” she said.
Ms Ali said proceeds from the charity fundraiser would assist the foundation in providing necessary school kits for children next year.
