Every issue discussed in Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) meetings are forwarded to all the members for comments, even those who walk out, says Attorney-General Siromi Turaga.

He said this when asked if there was any correspondence with the Opposition Leader Voreqe Bainimarama after he walked out of the COC meeting.

The A-G said everything discussed had to be communicated to all members.

“Whether they walk out or they sit in, they’re still part of the commission,” Mr Turaga said.

“Every issue discussed will be forwarded to them for comments. Whether they agree or they disagree, is entirely up to them.”

Mr Turaga said on Mr Mohammed Saneem’s case, whether a tribunal hearing would be conducted or not was yet to be decided.

“You can say that. Interestingly, on social media, some people believe that this may still proceed but you’ve got to be practical, you’ve got to look at the cost structure.

“If a person has resigned, it’s really whether it’s meaningful and useful purpose to proceed with a tribunal. “That’s the matter that COC will consider.”
