The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) has reminded members of the public the green voter card has expired.
“If you’re holding on to a green-coloured voter card, you have to upgrade your voter card to the blue-coloured voter card,” Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said.
“One of the main features of the blue-coloured voter card is that your polling venue, the place where you have to vote on Election Day is directly written on the voter card.
“This will prevent you from having to look up where you’re supposed to vote or confusion around your name not appearing on the list.”
Mr Saneem said as of Saturday, they had registered a total of 33,665 voters.
He said they had increased the number of their registration venues to 14 to cater for the high turnout.
“The FEO also provides direct home visit services to voters that cannot visit our VSCs.
“Our business house registration drive also received a very positive response.
“As such, the FEO’s registration drives at various centres will not be taking place tomorrow (Sunday) and on the public holiday on Monday. We will resume on Tuesday at various locations.
“We will also be looking at opening up offices in Korovou as well so that we can facilitate registration for those who visit Korovou Town.”
