Flight training is a key enabler of safety, says Boeing Company Commercial Sales and Marketing Asia Pacific vice president Christy Reese.
While congratulating Fiji Airways for the opening of the multimillion-dollar Aviation Academy in Nadi, she said pilot training would ensure the safe operations of commercial airlines in the region.
“We are confident that this new training centre featuring the state-of-the-art 737 MAX 8 full-flight simulator will contribute immensely to the safe operations of commercial airlines in the region,” she said.
“In addition, the training academy will play a critical role in ensuring that our future pilots receive the best hands-on training available. Safety is at the core of everything that we do and flight training is a key enabler of safety.
“We are pleased with Fiji Airways’ commitment to safety and their investment in establishing a first-class facility to support the global airline community.”
Airbus Commercial Aircraft head of sales Pacific Marie-Frederique Romain added the airline would ensure quality flight training across the region would be offered at the facility.
“There is no doubt that the Fiji Airways Aviation Centre will be a key resource to not only cater for Fiji’s aviation training and also for those airlines in the wider Pacific region as a whole,” she said.
