THE Arya Pratinidhi Sabha is an apolitical organisation and hence it does not give any political directions to its members, says Sabha media relations officer Kamlesh Arya.

This was the message from the organisation to its members when they go to the polls on November 14.

Mr Arya said the sabha members were free to decide who to vote or which party to vote for. “The membership of the sabha is about 25 per cent of Fijians who subscribe to Hinduism.

As an organisation, we would like the next government to focus more on the welfare of the nation and its people,” Mr Arya said.

When questioned on how its members should base their votes, Mr Arya said this should be done independent of any influence and based on their personal convictions.

“The sabha hopes that all Fijians will participate in the elections peacefully and with respect to others freedom of choice,” he said.
