RUMOURS that Muslims in the country will take over Fiji is not true, says FijiFirst party general secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

He claimed such talks had been going on only because he was a Muslim.

Speaking at the party’s campaign meeting in Suva on Monday, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said a lot of developments are now in place because people were now appointed on merit.

“I’ve seen in the social media people circulating a list saying all these Muslims are appointed, actually the list is false. I can also do a list and put a list of all the iTaukei people,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said. “I can do a whole list where Hindus are listed.

“I can do a list where all the South Indians would be listed, all the North-Indians would be listed.

“I can do a list of Arya Sabha people, all the Sanatan Dharm people.

“We can make any kind of list, but the reality is nobody is taking over Fiji and that nobody has that desire to take over Fiji.”
