Rugby target

TFL Fiji Warriors captain Rupeni Nasiga has challenged his teammates to believe in themselves and keep working hard to secure a spot in the Flying Fijians team.

The Nadroga man who arrived at Nadi International Airport yesterday with his gallant Warriors without head coach Senirusi Seruvakula said the players gave their best but fell short of their target against Argentina in the last game.

Only four local players have been selected in the Flying Fijians team for the Europe tour next month.

Three members of the Warriors side Joeli Veitayaki, Mesake Doge and Eremasi Radrodro together with Suva’s flanker Mosese Voka have been included in tour team.

“The boys gave their best but some basic errors cost us the game,” said Nasiga.

“The boys have learnt a lot from this tour.”

He said nothing was impossible for the players to fulfil their dream and the Uruguay tour was an eye-opener for the boys.

“Nothing is impossible,” said Nasiga.

“We just need to really work hard and achieve our target and I believe all these boys are aiming to secure a spot in the Flying Fijians team which I believe can be achieved through hard work.

“The Uruguay tour was a good learning curve for the players .

Nasiga said the boys had been urged to learn from their mistakes and aim for higher rugby goals.

“We just have to learn from our mistakes in our last three games and move on,” he said.

“We need to believe in ourselves and always work hard to become better rugby players.”

Nasiga said the ultimate goal was for these local players to force their way in the Flying Fijians team.
