THE Bible verse from Mathew Chapter 24 verse 35; ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away,’ will motivate the captain of the Fiji women’s rugby team to the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas.
She is Martharina Tove.
“It is my first trip overseas and I am excited and also nervous,” she said after Team Fiji presented its itatau to the President, Jioji Konrote at Borron House in Suva last week.
“I am happy to be represent Fiji at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
“My plan is to make it to the Fijiana team in future.
The Year 13 student of Ballantine Memorial School said she had the support of the players which made her work easier.
“I look at the Fijiana player Ana Roqica because she is the captain and I like the way she motivates players.
“I hope I will be like her and gain a place in the Fijiana team. Waisale Serevi is also one of my favourite players.”
