RATU Sukuna Memorial School crowned its new champion Seatura House at the 2019 Inter-house competition yesterday at the ANZ Stadium in Laucala Bay, Suva.
Seatura House scored 2297 points while the former champions Uluiqalau House took second place with 2096 points.
In third place was Nakauvadra House with 1889 points and in fourth place was Korobasaga House with 1344 points.
School vice-principal Isikeli Vuniwaqa said the school would try and take the athletics competition to another level this year.
“I know that it has been long now that we have not had any medals in the Coca-Cola Games but we will try and take it up and improve this year,” said Vuniwaqa.
“Last year’s performance has pushed us to do better and work harder this year especially in the boys division.”
The reigning champions of the Suva Zone 1 will not leave any stones unturned come the zonal competition next month.
“Despite the weather we have been facing, our preparation for the zone has been going well and all in all, we will try to defend our title this year.
“We have schools gunning for us so like I said we will work even harder for the zone competition,” said Vuniwaqa.
“We have some medal prospects in the school and will be taking them up to the Coca-Cola Games,” he added.
