A total of 612 members of the Fiji Performing Rights Association are expected to be paid in the 2019 royalty pay out from today.

The FPRA Chairman, Eremasi Tamanaisau said this is a 50 per cent pay out for its members which amounts to $137,500.

“The FPRA board of directors would like to acknowledge  the approval of the Chief Executive of the Australian Performing Rights Association APRA , Dean Ormston who has given the approval for the sharing of the $137,500.”

He said since these were not normal times, the board knew this would help its members who have lost their jobs.

“Our members who perform as in-house bands in nightclubs, hotels and resorts have lost their jobs and this is compounded by the fact that most of them are not permanent employees.”

He added, another 50 per cent pay out would be done in November this year.
